    《祝福》中的祥林嫂是这一类女性的典型形象，是旧中国贫苦农妇悲惨命运高度典型化的体现。封建社会的买卖婚姻使祥林嫂嫁给一个比她小十岁的男人，丈夫死后，其婆婆又将她像牲畜般的卖给贺老六。但第二次婚姻更不幸，夫亡子丧，大伯收房，将她赶出贺家坳。当走投无路的她再次到鲁四老爷家做佣工时，她已被封建礼教判定有罪：寡妇再嫁，伤风败俗；克夫克子，更是不祥之物。为赎罪名，祥林嫂用她的工钱，到土地庙里捐了一条门槛，当作自己的替身，“给千人踏，万人跨。”最后，在人们喜气洋洋的祝福声中，祥林嫂结束自己悲惨的一生。
