    余秋雨教授从推出《文化苦旅》后，又相继而出了《山居笔记》《霜冷长河》，加之他频繁的社会活动，使他成为了全国大小媒体争相追逐的明星。有趣的是，大家的这种“文化关注”几乎都是冲着他这些持续畅销的“文化散文”而来的，人们试图通过这些散文从深度和广度来审视和检讨中国文人的心路历程及其人格构成上的窘迫和缺憾，然而完全抛弃了散文在其艺术范畴内应具有的思想蕴涵、审美趣味，文体风格等价值。接踵而至的是一味的批判、再批判，将余秋雨从波峰推到了浪谷，这些批判类文字，措辞尖锐，充满火气，赞颂与批评的对应，交错形成了可称之为“余秋雨现象”的一道独特又热闹的文坛风景线。

1.从“文革”年代追溯人格与文格
    从余秋雨现象批判到余秋雨现象再批判，对于余秋雨先生陷入的两次被动与尴尬，我同意余杰先生的一个观点，他分析８０年代以来中国知识分子狂热推举米兰•昆德拉而冷落哈维尔的秘密时，特别提到余秋雨。他认为，哈维尔强调的“灵魂自足”，是知识分子人格的特点，因为灵魂比智慧更重要；而余秋雨却“近似昆德拉而远离哈维尔，他们对人生、对历史、对苦难都有一种冷漠和游戏的态度……”①为此，他甚至愤激地呼喊道：“在整体的罪恶中，知识分子罪不可赦！”②我不知道，余秋雨面对这样凌厉的声音，灵魂是否会震颤？
