Abstract

       As is known to all, the formation of the American Stars and Stripes is the history written in blood and tears, for which the Americans have struggled all along and eventually set up the States. Americans love their national flag deeply just as they love their motherland and their own lives.
       The flag of Stars and Stripes is the crystal of American patriotism. A strong prosperous nation with steady sustainable development largely depends on its people’s love, support and devotion. Everyone should love their country in their inner heart so that they will have burning passion, and burst out infinite energy which will encourage all of them to go forward bravely and firmly for the interests of their motherland.
       It is obvious that patriotism is very important for a nation’s existence and development not only in America but also in any other country. With the passage of time, the meaning of patriotism has changed a lot. Some sordid behaviors which occur in the name of patriotism infringe other countries’ benefits in the process of their development. It will do harm to the relationship between America and other nations and consequently affect the security and stability of the whole world.
All people of the world must pay great attention to the serious problem. Each nation should establish a correct conception of patriotism in every class, receive correct education of patriotism from childhood, form and develop true patriotism.

摘　要
      众所周知，美国星条旗的形成史就是美国人民不懈奋斗，最终建立美国的血泪史。美国人民热爱国旗如同热爱国家和自己的生命。可以说，星条旗就是美国人民爱国主义的结晶。一个国家和民族的强大，繁荣，与其持续稳定的发展离不开人民的热爱，支持与奉献。只有心中爱国，才会永远燃烧这份激情，迸发出无穷的力量激励着人民为了祖国的利益勇敢坚定地向前进！
      爱国主义对于一个民族的生存和发展的重要性是显而易见的，这不仅仅是在美国，而是在世界上任何一个国家都很重要。随着时间的流逝，星条旗下的爱国主义的内涵也发生了很大的变化。其中不乏许多打着爱国主义的旗号来侵害别国利益的卑劣行为。这些不法行为将会危害到美国与世界上其他国家之间的友好关系，甚至会影响到整个世界的安全及稳定。
      所以，包括美国在内的世界各国都应该十分重视这个问题。而现在我们所能够做的就是树立正确的爱国主义观念，从小进行正确的爱国主义教育，培养和发扬真正的爱国主义精神。
